Meet Your Instructors

Emily

Meet Emily

Emily was introduced to yoga while backpacking in New Zealand, which led her to attending iFlow Yoga Teacher Training with Amy Pastore in Bali in 2013. She studied Integrative Yoga Therapy at Kripalu with Joseph LePage in 2013 and completed her yoga therapy certification in 2017. The same year, she became an assistant for Maria and Functional Yoga Therapy. Emily worked as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist in Hong Kong from 2015-2018, before moving back to Canada in 2019 and opening Inspire Yoga Studio in Brandon, Manitoba in 2020.

Renu

Meet Renu

Renu is a devoted yoga instructor whose teachings are inspired by the timeless wisdom of the ancient scriptures. With deep reverence for yogaโ€™s sacred tradition, Renu guides students on a transformative journey of self-discovery, inner peace, and spiritual growth.

Usha

Meet Usha

With over 25 years of experience in yoga and meditation, I am passionate about teaching yoga from a spiritual perspective, infused with positive vibrations. My journey with yoga has been a profound blend of physiological, physical, and mental well-being. For me, yoga is not just about exercise and breathing techniques; it is a literal source of energy for my mind and spirituality.

Heather

Meet Heather

Heather McDermid is a Certified Yoga Instructor (CYA-E-RYT500) who has been practicing and studying the ancient healing art of Yoga for the past 25 years.  Heather strongly believes Yoga to be a journey of self discovery, a way of life that awakens us to our truest self, revealing the place within of pure joy, peace and unconditional love.

She considers Yoga as mind-body medicine that enriches every aspect of our being. The style of Yoga that she teaches is gentle to the body, with emphasis on the breath and overall awareness.  She infuses mindfulness throughout her teachings; as we connect to the here and now, the body relaxes, the mind becomes calm, and prana (energy) is activated, invoking deep healing for the whole body.  Her certifications and trainings include Ayurveda, Reiki, Kids Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, and Trauma-Informed Yoga.  She offers yoga through studio and private sessions, as well as yoga retreats, workshops, and festivals. She is currently offering her 200 hr Yoga Immersive Studies – Yoga Teacher Training Program in Stonewall, MB, registered through the Canadian Yoga Alliance.

Heather’s purpose is to assist others in finding optimal health, healing and enlightenment!

ytt prerequisites

Although it is good to have some experience, there is no required level of practice to take Yoga Teacher Training. YTT is the perfect opportunity to develop a yoga practice and to learn all about the benefits Yoga has to offer. We all start somewhere, if you are completely new to yoga – that’s okay! Basic yoga experience is recommended but not required to attend training.

There is no obligation to teach yoga after completing our course!  This training is also for yogis who seek to enhance their own personal practice, and want to develop a strong understanding of foundational asana and yoga lifestyle concepts.

If you plan on teaching yoga, this the perfect opportunity to become a Certified Yoga Teacher!  It’s important to attend formal education in any yoga or wellness related fields if you wish to offer these services to the public.  After completing a registered yoga training, you will be open to more abundant teaching opportunities, be eligible for advanced designations and have adequate prerequisites to attend certain continuing education programs in the future.

Yes, you can take training if you are already a yoga teacher! Enhance your skills and integrate a new approach to your current offerings as an instructor!  Each YTT educator will share new insights and perspectives.  There is always more to learn and new perspectives to be shared.
